By email – write to hello@zestprinting.co.uk
By visiting us at Zest, 12 Grove Road, Eastbourne- Monday to Friday between 0845 and 1715

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?

A. We accept most forms of payment:
Credit card
Debit card
BACS – call 01323 638 838 for our bank details.

Q. Where are you in Hastings?
A. We no longer have a physical presence in Hastings. Zest acquired Prontaprint Hastings in July 2012; when the lease on the Castle Street premises expired all printing was moved to Zest in Eastbourne.

Q. So you no longer serve Hastings?

A. We like to think of ourselves as Sussex-based printers with as many as 60% of our clients based outside of Eastbourne. We accept that it isn’t always easy to just pop in to the office as it used to be for our Hastings-based clients but current technology and an efficient, reliable courier system allows us to deliver work in as little as 24 hours from receipt of your files.

Q. Is my printing subject to VAT?
A. It depends! The first place to look is here– the HMRC website- but if you’re in any doubt call us at the office and we’ll talk you through it.

Q. Zest is ISO 9001 accredited – what does that mean?

A. ISO stands for the International Standards Organisation, and 9001 is their global standard for the management of quality in products and service delivery. To achieve and maintain the standard, everyone at Zest works to a controlled quality policy designed to deliver these exacting standards. Since we are accredited to the standard, we are also bound to perform regular internal audits to check that our products and services conform to customer expectations. If any discrepancies are found, we are then committed to taking corrective or preventative action to ensure the problems are resolved. To maintain our 9001 certification, we also have to pass annual audits performed by external, ISO-authorised agencies. These ensure that we continue to offer the best products and services and keep waste to a minimum.

Q. What about ISO 14001?

A. While ISO 9001 governs our quality standards, ISO 14001 sets a benchmark for our environmental policy. At Zest, we are committed to minimising our environmental impacts and follow a regularly updated action plan to ensure we work in responsible and sustainable ways. Our plan sets ongoing improvement targets for everything from reducing our carbon footprint to minimising waste, monitoring our use of natural resources and increasing recycling wherever possible.

Q. And the FSC accreditation is related to that?

A. FSC and ISO14001 are linked in that they are both concerned with responsible use of resources, our impact on the environment and the future of the planet. The FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) are an international non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible forestry. FSC certifies forests all over the world to ensure they meet the highest environmental and social standards. Products made with wood and paper from FSC forests are marked with their ‘tick tree’ logo. Zest received FSC accreditation in 2013  to help us expand on our environmental policy.

Q. How do we make sure our printing is an FSC job to meet our companies environmental policies?

A. The chances are it already is- the majority of paper stock we print on is produced from FSC-certified wood but to be sure please specify at the time of placing your order so we can follow our own internal procedure.

Q. Are you involved in any other environmental practices?

A. We are members of The Woodland Trust

Q. How do I send my artwork files to you for printing?

A. If your artwork files are small, under 13mb, you can send them as an email attachment. However, if your files are larger, it is best to transfer them to us by clicking Send Us a File on the homepage and following the instructions
providing us with a USB stick, CD or DVD.

Q. What is digital print?

A. Digital print is produced on digital presses that do not use the printing plates used in offset litho printing. Its key benefits are its minimal set-up cost, which means print runs can start from one upwards, allowing you to produce only the number of prints you need and with no need for individual plates, it allows for multiple designs and each piece of print to be fully personalised.

Q. Can you print on textured or any other stocks?

A. Digital printers are more limited than litho presses in the stocks they can handle, so although we have a wide range of stock, we cannot digitally print on textured stock. However, we can quote on almost every textured print project, although litho print runs generally have to be longer. We can also print on self-adhesive labels and some smooth specialist stocks. The best way to find out if we can print on your required stock is to call us on 07763 636 302 and we’ll discuss your needs in person.

Q. What is embossing?

A. Embossing uses a die – a solid pattern or stamp – to mould paper into a raised or lowered pattern, so adding texture to a printed item.

Q. What is foil stamping?

A. Foil stamping adds colour and flash to a document in addition to standard inks. A sculpted metal stamp is used to adhere metallic leaf – using heat and pressure – to paper. The result is a shiny, eye-catching design with a degree of physical texture.

Q. How do I complain if I need to?

A. In the unlikely event you aren’t completely satisfied with our service, please let us know by phone, email or by visiting our office. We’ll then do everything we can to put things right for you. If you are still unsatisfied after this, we will follow a formal ISO 9001 procedure, carrying out a full investigation into the matter and explaining its findings and outcome to you with the aim of bringing everything to a satisfactory conclusion.See our ‘Customer Promise’ on the home-page for further details.
